Leaving on jet plane, don't know when I'll be back again...

Terrifyingly enough, there are less than 54 hours now until I get on a plane and fly out of the country. I think this expression accurately sums up my state of mind at the moment:---------------------------------------------->

I have really enjoyed spending time with all my wonderful friends and family this past week. It didn't seem like I was really leaving until everyone started saying good-bye. Now, it's suddenly all very, very real, and I'm trying to make sure I have all my i's dotted and t's crossed.

There is a surprising amount of things to get done before living in a foreign country for a year. Distilling all your possessions into two suitcases is no mean feat, either. I have the feeling that once I get to Britain, things will be like one of those huge slides at the state fair. First you have to buy tickets, and wait in line, and climb to the top, but once you're there, you just start sliding and go with the bumps and thrills along the way.
